Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Twin Pines Country Club and the Twin Pines Club?  Twin Pines Country Club is the 9/18 hole golf course and associated golf cart storage.  The Twin Pines Club is a separately owned and operated facility inside the clubhouse which offers food, drinks a golf simulator, and rental carts.

Are there initiation fees to join Twin Pines Country Club? We do not currently charge initiation fees to join the club.

Do you have practice facilities?  We have a self service driving range and a putting/chipping green.  For the driving range, we recommend you bring your own balls to the range and pick them back up when you leave.  However, frequently you will find balls on the range which you are free to hit.  If you use balls that were at the top of the range when you get there, we ask that you replace them before you leave.  The small green on the driving range is a nursery green and not a target, please do not hit onto the nursery green.

Do I need to sign in before playing? We pride ourselves in a 'no hassle golf experience'.  While you do not need to register before play, you do need to register guests at the Green Box on #1 tee.

How do I make tee times?  Part of our 'no hassle golf experience', includes not needing to make tee time.  Just walk or ride to the tee box and start playing!

Who do I contact about getting a spot for my personal golf cart?  Contact Paul Meador at 816.215.1860

How do I sign up for a rental cart?  Rental carts are available through the separately owned and operated Twin Pines Club.  You can access their website here:   https://twinpinesclub.com/

Who are Qualified Household members? Dependents in your home under the age of 18 are included in your membership. Dependents through age 21 are included provided they are considered full time students.

What is the Guest Policy:  Paid guests that reside in Cass County can play at Twin Pines once per month with a member.  Paid out of county guests are welcome any time.

How do I pay for guests?   The Green Box at the #1 tee is used to pay for guests.  Use the envelopes in the mailbox  near the Green Box to register guests.  You can choose to pay for the guests via the online store on this website, enclose  a check or cash in the envelope or have it billed to your account.

Can a non-member play on their own?  We are a Private Member only course.  Non-members must play as a guest with a member.

How many people can play in a group?  Groups are limited to  five(5) players from April 1 to Septemper 30.  From October 1 to March 30, six(6) players are allowed per group.   As always, allow faster groups to play through, regardless of your group size.

Who has 'right of way' on #1 tee?  Golfers who are lined up to play on #1 hole have 'right of way' over golfers coming from #9 hole, preparing to play #10 hole.

Are there any leagues I can participate in?  There is a men's scramble league on Wednesday evening that tee's off at 5 p.m.. The league begins when weather allows in the spring and runs through October. Men of all skill levels are welcome.  We are open to a women's or couple's league if there is demand and someone wants to organize and coordinate it.

How many sets of tees are there?  There are 3 sets of tees on each hole. White (back), Gold and Red (forward).  You are free to play whichever set of tees brings you the most joy.

Where are the restrooms?  The restrooms in the lower level of the Twin Pines Club are leased on a shared basis for the benefit of the Country Club members.

What is the organizational structure of Twin Pines Country Club?  Cass County Recreation Park Inc. (doing business as Twin Pines Country Club) is a 501(c)(7) Social Club.  We have a 5 member board which governs the organization. We hold a general meeting at least annually.

Do you need Volunteers?  Yes. In order to keep dues low, we maintain minimal grounds keeping staff.  The balance of the work is done by volunteers.  In additional to daily and weekly tasks, we have a work day in the fall.  If you have a desire to volunteer, please contact send an email to twinpines.cc@outlook.com

Some of the grounds staff don't get out of my way like at other courses, what's up with that?  Several of the grounds staff are unpaid volunteers who donate over 1000 hours per year.  This allow us to keep dues low and continue to upgrade our equipment.   They are anxious to get their work done and get back home or go enjoy the game themselves.  This happens infrequently, so just be patient, you won't have to wait long.  As a member, there is no expectation that you should have to volunteer (though it is appreciated!), but we do ask that you be patient, understanding and appreciative with members who do.

Can I bring my dog or cat on the course?  Pets are welcome as long as they are under control and do not bother other members.  You are responsible for erasing any tracks they leave in the bunkers. You are also responsible for picking up any mess that they make.  Pets not following the prior rules will be barred from the course.

What should I know about 'on course' golf etiquette?

  1. Repair ball marks on the green. Follow the procedure shown in this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuYXMn4tA10
  2. Allow faster groups to play through.  It's quite o.k. to be a beginning player, and slow.  Just allow faster players through.
  3. Rake the bunkers.  If you, your kids or your pets walk through any of the bunkers, use the nearby rakes to erase your tracks.
  4. Fix your divots.  This is particularly an issue on the tees shots on the par 3's.
  5. It's ok to play music, but limit the volume so other groups on the course can't hear it.

What should I know about golf cart rules?

1. Follow the golf cart rules posted on #1 tee

  • Cart path only - keep your golf cart on the cart path throughout your round.
  • Stay off the fairway- Stay on cart path until you are near your ball, then enter the rough but do not enter the fairway.
  • 90 degree - Stay on the cart path until you are 90 degrees to your ball, then enter the rough/fairway to find your ball.
  • Don't drive in the tall grass between fairways.
  • Stay outside of the white stakes around the green.
  • Do not drive on the tees.
